About

Hi All,  The general purpose for this series of blogs, along with an opportunity to share some of the events that stand out(at least to me)in my life  is to give my take on the state of the world — my opinions on how we got where we are, where I think we are and where where I am afraid we may be headed.
WARNING:  As regards my viewpoints about the activities and attitudes of those from the right side of the political spectrum, I tend toward the polemic which will only intensify as the theme of a particular blog moves to the right.   But,please go ahead and let me have it right back.  If you enjoy reading (or trashing) my blogs, you can subscribe, so you can receive emails when I rant about something new.
Also, You can read a narrative index that briefly describes what is in each of my blogs by reading my Blog Blog.
Briefly about me:  I am a left-leaning 65 year old man who travels the highways and byways of Central New York (The finger lakes and beyond) teaching independent travel and living skills to the blind and visually impaired.  I have worked in the field of visual impairment for 26 years, 15 of those in Austin Texas, with the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, where I taught everything from rock-climbing to roast beef.

I n 2000, like a giant salmon I swam back up to where I was hatched when I was hired by AURORA of CNY — a not-for-profit  agency that provides services to the Blind, Visually Impaired, Deaf and Hard of Hearing for three counties in central New York State —  hired right after earning  my professional certification in Orientation and Mobility and have happily and proudly worked for AURORA for the past twelve-years this coming September.

I enjoy, reading (I have no connection to TV), swimming, canoeing, photography, travel, writing and various computer activities — those that don’t involve: Texterbating or social nitwitting. I also have a web page on my own domain ssor.net. Come and check it out.

Oh, and please leave your comments at the bottom of each blog.  By doing this, you increase the circulation of my blogs and will cause more people to read them.  If you have your own blog on WordPress and are logged on, you can click the “Subscribe” link to subscribe to my blog. If you do that you will receive an email each time I put up a new blog.

If you don’t have a blog of your own, you can still receive emails each time I add a new blog by responding to any of my blogs in the space provided at the bottom. You are required to put in your email name and email address in the blanks provided.  Under the space where you enter your comment you will see two check boxes. If you check the one next to “send me site updates”, you will receive an email each time I add a new blog.  You probably don’t want to check the one next to “Send me all comments to this blog” because if you did you would receive an email each time someone comments on this particular blog.

Finally, you should also check out my pictures of Baraca my marvelous Manecoon Cat,   Fall Colors in central New York and a variety of other photos.

                                ENJOY!

    Ross-

It was a hoot meeting you last night. I enjoyed reading some of your blog entries. You have an engaging writing style. I even learned some things. I was unable to find the Woodstock blog, or did I misunderstand what you said?

I look forward to seeing you again sometime.

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin

After finally getting back on my blog after two years of trying to do so, I am just now responding to your comment. I have no idea what your talking about when using various acronyms and terms which I (and most people) are totally unfamliar with. What is an on-page SEO? I would not know and H tag if it bit me. I went to the link you provided for seo plugin and all there is a is a gray screen, so I still have no idea what it is.

  5. I am genuinely thankful to the holder of this web site who has shared this great paragraph at at this time.
